amma launches in Kyrgyzstan with UNFPA and the Ministry of Health
With UNFPA and the Ministry of Health, amma launches a Kyrgyz-language version of its pregnancy tracker for women in Kyrgyzstan.

amma pregnancy tracker has received official support at government level in Kyrgyzstan. The launch of the app in the country was made possible by close collaboration between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The work builds on amma's long-standing cooperation with UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia. At the end of January, amma announced that the app was available in Kyrgyz: UNFPA Kyrgyzstan led its translation and localisation into Kyrgyz and Russian, so that users in Kyrgyzstan get content tailored to the needs and context of the country. In April, amma presented the Kyrgyz-language version in Bishkek and Osh together with UNFPA, the Ministry of Health and local partner organisations.
The launch involves more than translating the interface. The app is adapted to the local cultural, linguistic and legal context and includes more than 460 evidence-based articles and materials for women in Kyrgyzstan. The free version covers the period from the first weeks of pregnancy through childbirth and the postpartum period, with a pregnancy calendar, reminders, health information and legal guidance, and aims to improve access to health information, especially in rural and underserved areas.
“The expansion of amma pregnancy tracker into the Kyrgyz language is a great achievement. The information about pregnancy is contextualized to the country and has the potential to reach over 1.5 million women of reproductive age, putting in their hands critical health information created collaboratively by amma and UNFPA.”
— Dr Tamar Khomasuridze, Regional Sexual and Reproductive Health Adviser, UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia
“This collaboration marks a significant step in our mission to make trusted, evidence-based pregnancy and parenting information accessible to every family. By bringing amma.family to Kyrgyz-speaking users, we are ensuring that more women in Kyrgyzstan can access vital health resources in their native language, empowering them to make informed decisions for themselves and their families. We are grateful to UNFPA EECA and UNFPA Kyrgyzstan for their invaluable partnership in making this possible.”
— Olga Zamyatina, Chief Content Officer, amma
For amma, the launch shows how public–private cooperation and cross-border partnerships can deliver inclusive digital health solutions that align with national health priorities. UNFPA Kyrgyzstan covered the launch in its official release.
